2 Announcements and 1 Request

Greetings brothers and sisters in Christ,

The TEAMM executive council has asked me to remind you of the events for this week. Considering the news just yesterday regarding the killing of Osama bin Laden, it is even more important for us to gather in prayer for our leaders and our world.

First, this Wednesday is our monthly Prayer Gathering at MCL. As usual we will be meeting at 8am. Our topics for discussion & prayer this week will be the National Day of Prayer, and a potential change in our monthly meeting location.

Secondly, this Thursday is the National Day of Prayer. We will be gathering TWICE for moments of prayer. One gathering will be at Riehle Plaza (bus depot) in Downtown Lafayette at noon (actually 12:10pm). The second gathering will be the City-wide Night of Worship at the historic Trinity United Methodist Church downtown at 7pm.

Here’s an announcement if you want to post a last minute reminder on your church website or to send by email to your congregation:

A Mighty Fortress Is Our God!

“I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust” (Psalm 91:2). This is the theme for the 60th National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 5.

The first Thursday of May each year is designated as a day for the people of our country to pray. It is a day to seek God’s guidance regarding our nation’s policies and actions, and pray for those in various positions of leadership and influence.

You are invited to participate in the local events: the prayer gathering at Riehle Plaza at 12:10 PM; and the City-wide Night of Worship at the historic Trinity United Methodist downtown at 7:00 PM.

Finally, I want to ask you to send in your TEAMM membership registration for 2011 if you haven’t already done so. We were hoping to have our online registration system in place by now, but we don’t have it ready to take online donations, so we will have to process your checks manually. Would you please bring your registration form and check to one of the events this week?
