GLPW Leaders

Mary Pachmayr – Member of Evangelical Covenant Church

I am a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Lafayette. I have seen the power of prayer during my entire life time. My parents survived many hard times as a result of their faithful prayers and as I observed this during my formative years I too began to pray. During the past several years I have also seen so many good, positive things happen in this community as a result of the many prayers of GLPW members. I consider it an honor and a privilege to be a part of this group.

Walter Isenburg, Brother at Upper Room.

My draw: that all of the brothers and sisters in Lafayette and West Lafayette would be so sensitive to the motion of the Holy Spirit that the slightest whisper sends them ALL to take the needed actions, and that as the “eyes of the Lord move back and forth across the earth to show Himself strong”. Lafayette is a light to catch His eye.

Jon Smith – Member of First Assembly of God; retired Purdue University staff member.

What’s going to be accomplished in this community (e.g., revival, breaking of satanic strongholds, manifestations of God, unity within and among the churches, etc.) is going to be accomplished as a result of fervent, on-going, faith-filled prayer.  I purpose to be among those who will persevere in prayer until it happens.

Brian Henderson – Retired from Eli Lilly and company in 2007 after 34 years.

I am currently the Lay Leader at Battle Ground United Methodist Church. What has drawn me to be involved as a GLPW coordinator is the influence of many godly men who have at least one thing in common – a consistent, constant, thoughtful, and fervent prayer walk. It is a highlight of my week to meet in intercessory prayer with fellow believers on behalf of the body known as the Battle ground United Methodist Church, churches in the area, the cities of Lafayette, West Lafayette, our county, state, the nation and the world.

Lisa Unkel – Member of the Dayton United Methodist Church.

I am a married mother of four. I work for a family business and help with various ministries in my church. Why GLPW? I desire to intercede for the needs of the body of Christ, and that all are of one heart, one mind and seeking the Lord with all our hearts. God often stirs me at prayer gatherings for the children, families and young adults, because of His blessings in my life and because of the testimony that He has given me through His redeeming love and grace of my past and present.

Judi Buchman – Member of Maple Ridge Community Church.

My heart’s desire is to see God bring revival to Lafayette and West Lafayette and the Purdue campus which will bring hundreds to Christ and change our community to bring honor and glory to His name. That will only come about as the body of Christ prays together to that end.

Lisa Scarlett – Member of the First Assembly of God.

I have a desire to see Jesus lifted high, that all would be drawn to Him, that they would come to know and serve Him, that lives would be changed and cycles of sin be broken. Prayer is the pathway to seeing this accomplished. There is much power as we gather from several denominations, in unity, as one body, to stand in the gap for our cities, state and nation.

Joan Kuipers - Member of Covenant Church.

Since my rebirth into a life with Jesus over forty years ago, I have grown in my understanding and love for the gift of prayer. Through the work of the Holy Spirit, I have seen victory in my life, my family and my church in answer to prayers. I am praying that those who profess Christ as their Savior would give more and more of their life to passionate prayer. There is so much the LORD wants to accomplish in this unique community. It is a joy to join Christians from other local churches to pray for our community. God has brought the world to our door. We must answer His knocking on the doors of our hearts and be used to bring these people into His kingdom. This will only be accomplished by passionate and fervent prayer.
