Brad Bush has Passed

It is with that strange mixture of sadness and gratitude known only to those with the hope of the resurrection that I write this update.

It is likely that you have heard the news already, but this last Saturday, Brad Bush passed away silently and unexpectedly. According to his wife Susan, he had not been declining in the previous days, but while she and Brad’s mom were sharing a cup of coffee, he just slipped away.

TEAMM Diversity Workshop 2014

On Saturday, October 18, TEAMM hosted a Diversity Workshop entitled Building God’s Inclusive Community. Pastor James Foster facilitated the workshop and led us through a number of exercises designed to help us explore some of the issues related to racial reconciliation among pastors and ministries in the area.

We had a great set of conversations, and I thought I would share a few of my personal takeaways from the morning.

New Agenda for TEAMM Meetings

emailed from Brad

Just a brief notice for our September gathering at Sacred Grounds this Wednesday, September 4th at 8:00 AM. Sacred Grounds is located at 724 Wabash Ave. in Lafayette. This fall we’ll start a new agenda to help make our time together more productive. The coffee and muffins are free. Just tell them at the front counter you are there for the TEAMM gathering.

Monthly Ministry Leaders Prayer Gathering June 6 at Sunrise Christian Reformed Church

Our meeting for the month of June will happen on Wednesday June 6 at 8am as usual. We will be meeting in the Library at Sunrise Christian Reformed Church on the corner of South 9th Street and County Road 500S. This will be a great time for us to rally around some hurting brothers and sisters to lift them up and to “bear one another’s burdens” as we have been challenged to do. Can you make it a priority to be there?

Poverty 101 (via Tom Johnson)

My name is Tom Johnson and I’m a Pastor at Covenant Church in West Lafayette. I want to give you a personal invitation to a training event we are hosting in February. My hope is that this training event will enable believers in the Greater Lafayette Community to understand better the mindset of people in generational poverty. But I hope to do more. Please read on.

2 Announcements and 1 Request

Greetings brothers and sisters in Christ,

The TEAMM executive council has asked me to remind you of the events for this week. Considering the news just yesterday regarding the killing of Osama bin Laden, it is even more important for us to gather in prayer for our leaders and our world.
