Gratitude Sunday is THIS WEEK!

On the first Sunday of the month, we always celebrate what we call Gratitude Sunday. We pushed April’s Gratitude Sunday back a week, to focus on Easter, so this Sunday is that Sunday. Prepare your hearts for worshipping God through communion and giving our tithes and offerings.

“Discover LCC” Meet and Greet • THIS SUNDAY For those newer to LCC, head to the Café (just behind the auditorium) at either 10:20am or 12:10pm to meet a couple of key leaders, learn about what we do, and ask some questions. Spring Fun Fest • NEXT SUNDAY, April 15 The Spring Fun Fest is only ONE week away on April 15th, from 3-6pm at Kennedy Park! Twice a year, in the Spring and Fall, we join with nearby churches to host a party for the people living near us in the “Reservation” neighborhoods. It’s a simple way for us to be a blessing to the people who live there and for us to build some relationships with them. We still need plenty of volunteers to help make this the best Fun Fest yet! There is fun for everyone, and volunteering is the best part! SIGN UP THIS SUNDAY by filling out a special Connect Card that will be on your seat, marking the activity (or activities!) you’d like to volunteer for and what time(s). Alternatively, text “FFHELP” to 765-231-2333 to sign up to help, or for more information about the event, text “FUNFEST” to that same number. #fakenews Part 01 :: Resurrection

The biggest fakeout of all time was when everyone thought Jesus was dead… but he came back!

#fakenews

Lafayette Community Church - Sat, 03/31/2018 - 21:06

Recently, our society has been flooded with concerns about “Fake News.” Our President is accusing previously trusted media outlets of spouting “fake news.” Our media outlets are fighting against the social media “fake news.” And the FBI is doing research into “fake news” injected into our lives through the efforts of foreign governments!

On April Fool’s Day 2018 we will launch into a series on being people of rationality, objectivity, and integrity, and we will start it all off with the largest fakeout of all time… the Resurrection of Jesus! People thought he was dead, but he came back to life!

Sunday, April 1st is Easter. Join our celebration!

Calvary Chapel News - Sat, 03/31/2018 - 15:40

Sunday,  April 1st, is Resurrection Sunday, which is always a special day here at Calvary Chapel.  So be sure to invite your family and friends to join as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus!  Worship starts at 10:30 am.

Making a Difference

Calvary Chapel News - Tue, 03/20/2018 - 13:21

If God was to answer your prayers today, would it change only your life or would it change the lives around you? God promises to take care of us and our prayers should be a intercessory prayer for others there needs their problems in their heart towards God. Let us not only pray for ourselves but to pray for others more! Amen.

Be Holy because I am Holy

Calvary Chapel News - Tue, 03/20/2018 - 13:18

As we respond to the love of Christ and trust the Holy Spirit to fill us, these characteristics will become increasingly more evident in our daily lives, our purpose and desire to bring honor and glory to Christ instead of ourselves. We are to be trusting in that love and power of the spirit to accomplish God’s will in our lives. Galatians 5;22, The fruits of the spirit are Love, peace, patients, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, self control, righteousness and more. Romans 6;22 says, but now since you have been set free from sin and have become enslaved to God, you have your fruit, which results in sanctification-and the outcome is eternal life. We are called holy by position and we are to be holy by application. These are the choices we should be making to optimize our walk with Christ and the work that he has for us to do. We are to stand firm commit ourselves to the Lord and resist the devil. We are to be transformed by the renewing of our minds through the word of God. When the Holy Spirit is in control of our life we do not have to be afraid of the things that the world is afraid of. A smooth transition between trials shows the world our faith and our trust In God.
